Prices and the free trial
What does it cost?
| Monthly | Yearly | |
|---|---|---|
| First truck | $79 a month | $828 a year ($69 a month) |
| Each additional truck | $49 a month | $528 a year ($44 a month) |
| Truck asleep for the off-season | $10 a month | $120 a year |
Every truck gets every feature: as many kiosks and kitchen screens as you like, the sales dashboard, menu import, the nightly bookkeeping email and help any hour.
Is there a free trial? Do I need a card?
Yes: 30 days, no card needed. Add a card any time during the trial in Admin → Account → Billing; nothing is charged until the trial ends. If there's no card when the trial ends, the kiosks ask customers to order at the window until you add one. Nothing is deleted.
Monthly or yearly?
Yearly costs less if your trucks run all year. If a truck sleeps for part of the year, monthly usually suits you better: on a yearly plan a truck's lower sleeping price starts at your next yearly renewal.
Are there any other fees?
- Card fees are Square's, at your usual Square rates, between you and Square. We never take a percentage of your sales.
- Text receipts from the kitchen screen: 250 a month are included for each truck that isn't asleep, shared across your trucks. We email you at 75%. Past that, each text is 3¢, added to your next bill after the month ends (yearly plans get their own small invoice). Receipts the Square Terminal sends are Square's and never count.
- Sales tax is added to your bill only where it's required.
When you're charged
When am I charged?
In advance, at the start of each month (or year), to the card on file. Payments go through Stripe, and Stripe emails you a receipt. Your first charge is on the day your free trial ends.
Where are my invoices and receipts?
Admin → Account → Billing → Manage billing opens Stripe's billing page, where you can see every invoice and receipt, change your card and update your billing details.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes: Admin → Account → Billing → Switch to yearly (or monthly). Stripe credits the unused part of your current plan toward the new one.
Adding, sleeping and removing trucks
What happens when I add a truck?
It's charged from that day to the end of your current billing period (added to your next bill), then at the normal price from then on.
How does off-season sleep work?
Admin → Trucks → Edit… → Sleep for the off-season. You've already paid for the current month (or year), so the truck keeps taking orders until it ends, then goes to sleep by itself: its kiosks show "closed for the season", and its tablets, menu, settings and sales history all stay. From that bill it's $10 a month. Changed your mind? Edit… → Cancel scheduled sleep any time before then. During the free trial, Sleep happens right away.
What does waking a truck cost?
Wake it any time and its kiosks take orders again within a minute. It's charged at the full price from that day to the end of the billing period, unless it's already paid for at the full price this period. Waking a truck for a weekend means paying the full price for the rest of that period, so it's worth planning around your billing date.
What happens when I remove a truck?
Admin → Trucks → Edit… → Remove truck takes it off the kiosk, kitchen screens, dashboard and journal right away (revoke its tablets first). You can restore it from the Trucks list for 7 days; after that it's gone, though its sales history stays in your reports. It's billed until your next bill and costs nothing after that. If it's just parked for the season, Sleep is usually better: it keeps everything ready for $10 a month.
Do I get money back if I sleep or remove a truck partway through a month?
No. Billing is in advance and we don't refund or credit part of a period, which is why Sleep waits until the end of what you've paid for: you get to use it.
Payments and cancelling
What if a payment doesn't go through?
We email you, and you have 48 hours to update your card under Manage billing. After that, the kiosks ask customers to order at the window until the payment goes through, then ordering starts again right away. Nothing is deleted.
How do I cancel?
Admin → Account → Billing → Manage billing → Cancel. Everything keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for, then the tablets stop. There are no partial refunds. You can still sign in afterwards to restart, or to download your orders and menu as spreadsheet files. If you'd like your data deleted after cancelling, ask through our contact form with your account's email address, and it's deleted within 30 days.
